    • WHY BUY 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 5 SE RWD Standard Range The SE RWD Standard Range is the most affordable and simplest way to get into Hyundais award-winning electric crossover. It focuses on efficiency practicality and everyday usability making it one of the best value EVs you can buy right now. Here are the strongest reasons to choose it: 1. One of the Most Affordable Modern EVs For 2026 Hyundai dramatically lowered pricing making this trim especially attractive. Starting around $36K$37K MSRP Price dropped roughly $7600 compared to prior models Competes with gas SUVs on monthly payment in many cases Hyundai cut prices to keep the IONIQ 5 competitive as EV incentives changed which benefits buyers directly. You get futuristic EV tech at near-gas-SUV pricing. 2. Practical Real-World Electric Range The Standard Range uses a 63-kWh battery designed for daily commuting efficiency. About 245 miles of EPA-estimated range Excellent for commuting errands and regional driving Lower weight improves efficiency vs larger-battery models For many drivers this easily covers a full week of commuting on one charge. 3. Ultra-Fast Charging (Best in Class) IONIQ 5s 800-volt architecture is still ahead of many competitors. 1080% fast charge in about 24 minutes Add roughly 137 miles in ~15 minutes Level-2 home charging: about 5 hr 40 min full charge That means road trips are far more realistic than older EVs. 4. Smooth Rear-Wheel Drive Driving Feel Unlike many small EV crossovers: Rear-wheel drive = better balance and handling Instant electric torque (258 lb-ft) Quiet vibration-free acceleration Simple single-motor setup = fewer components long-term Power output is about 168 hp perfect for efficient daily driving. 5. High-Tech Interior Even in the Base Trim You dont give up technology by choosing the SE: Dual 12.3-inch digital displays Navigation + large touchscreen Advanced driver assistance systems Spacious flat-floor EV interior Modern minimalist design Hyundai gives premium tech even at entry level. 6. Surprisingly Large Interior Space Because its built on a dedicated EV platform: Flat floor = more legroom SUV practicality with hatchback efficiency Feels closer to a midsize SUV inside Many buyers are shocked how roomy it feels compared to gas compact SUVs. 7. Very Low Ownership Costs Compared to gas vehicles: No oil changes Fewer moving parts Regenerative braking reduces brake wear Electricity usually cheaper than fuel Perfect if you want predictable long-term costs. Best For Buyers Who: Commute daily (2060 miles) Want lowest-price IONIQ 5 Charge mostly at home Prefer efficiency over maximum range Want EV tech without luxury pricing

    • great design and drive, however creaks and cracks

Maybe just the 2025 model from the new USA plant, however the creaks and cracks from hadliner and dash area are absolutely horrific considering the 52,000 MSRP. Rented many 2023 models which were better. I have 2 year lease and will let this go just for that. Drive and style etc is awesome, rande is over 400 miles for me in Houston. Suspesion was hardened over previous models which is likely the reason the creaks are happening. Too many hard plastics inside?
    • Great so far!

I took delivery a few days ago, but so far it is as good as expected. Wonderful ride and still discovering all the features.
    • Love this car

By TucsonEV on 5/10/2025 4:04:17 AM

      5.0
My second EV and and it is hard to imagine going back to ICE. The car is very smooth, spacious and comfortable. Love the interior and the overall vibe of the car. The regenerative brake settings (one pedal driving) and the DC Fast Charging speeds are both big pluses. I have had to take the car in for software update recalls, but I have not encountered any issues related to those recalls and the software updates were generally finished in an hour or so. I live in southern Arizona so RWD is definitely sufficient and the lack of a rear windshield wiper is not much of an issue here. The range that I get on my typical commute which uses mostly roads with 40-45 mph speed limits is over 350 miles. Hop on the highway for a road trip at 75 mph and that range drops to about 250 miles. Keep in mind that cold weather is not an issue here. Had some anxiety first couple of road trips but that has now faded. The charging speeds and proliferation of stations over the past couple of years has really helped. I wish the stereo on the SEL trim was a bit better, but there are a lot of great features in the car (ADS, smart lift gate, power folding side mirrors etc) that make it just a really easy car to live with.
